Because of the old closeness, Sai Buri Islamic Witthaya School in Pattani Province is one of the places where Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Prime Minister, will travel to meet with the school's teachers and executives of private schools in Pattani Province this Sunday (23 February 2025). Some teachers said that Thaksin's visit was like visiting an old friend because he had been close to the school's administrators since before he ran for election more than 20 years ago.
